The Waconia Youth Wrestling program has been recognized as one of the top youth wrestling organizations in the State of Minnesota, and our overall K-12 program Waconia Wrestling Club has a rich tradition of developing kids into tremendous wrestlers and people of character through the sport. Our program is geared for kids at all levels – whether brand new or advanced/competitive. Our goal as a program is to help with each wrestler’s individual development and to create a long-term passion for the sport.
The youth wrestling season is broken into two parts. The 1st season runs from mid-November through January 31st. The 2nd season is optional and goes from February until April 5th. Additional details for the 2nd season will be announced in January. Practices are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of November 11th and will be 2 times per week at either the Middle School or High School wrestling rooms. More information on practice times/dates/location will be shared in October. Included with your registration is a T-shirt, entry into the Waconia Youth Open tournament and various scrimmage opportunities with other clubs. A parent meeting to outline expectations, review the parent handbook and answer questions will be held on November 7th @ 6:00pm @ Waconia Middle School Cafeteria.
There will be an informational “Open House” and FREE Youth Wrestling Clinic for all PreK – 6th grade kids interested in signing up on September 23rd in the Waconia High School Main Gym at 7:00pm.
