Boys Metro Baseball Information for 2023 Season | Registration Deadline is Tuesday, September 20, 2022

This is a competitive, skills based traveling league and an evaluation is used. Participants MUST attend their age appropriate evaluation time. The fall evaluation date will be on Saturday, September 24. The next evaluation date will be the winter of 2023. There is a risk that cuts will be made, and no player is guaranteed a spot on any team regardless of team placement in 2022. For those who wish to skip the evaluation process for baseball there is an opportunity to play local league or machine pitch this coming summer. In the event you were evaluated and not selected to a Metro Baseball team, you will receive a full refund minus the $25 evaluation and processing fee. An email will be sent after evaluations to explain additional baseball options for spring/summer 2023. Teams will be formed after the winter 2023 evaluation date.

Registrations for “playing up with your grade” need to be pre-approved by contacting Community Education at 952-856-4520. Games could be from late April - July. Typically twice per week on any night of the week. Coaches pick practice dates. Players are unable to play in both the Metro League and Pee Wee, Local League Baseball & Crow River Baseball. The number of teams are based on tryout scores/strength of team, not by the number of participants that tryout. There is no guarantee that there will be enough players to fill out any team. If there are enough skilled participants for multiple teams that could be created as well. WAA and the Baseball Advisory Board has the right to move boys up a level or shift to another team as it seems fit based on tryouts and numbers. The winter evaluation date/location is TBD. Teams will be decided shortly after the 2nd evaluation.

Baseball Fees: Payment of $470 is due on or before September 20 2022. Other fees may apply based on if the team/coaches decide to play/qualify for additional tournaments and/or have paid coaches. **Payment Option Available - $50 down payment before the registration deadline of September 20. On Friday, October 14 2022 your card will be charged $210 with the remaining balance of $210 will be charged on Friday, December 9, 2022. Fee includes a $25 non-refundable evaluation and processing fee. After Friday, December 9, 2022, a payment plan is no longer offered and you will need to pay the full fee. If you register after January 4, 2023 add $30.

Fee includes 2 uniform tops, hat, two tournaments, equipment, game and field supplies, umpire fees, administration, coaching training/clinics, indoor batting cage/gym time, more practices run by high school coaches/board members. Other off season training and player development opportunities will be communicated via email as they are coordinated beginning in the fall of 2022. These will be a separate fee and registration.

*New Uniforms & hats for 2023 will be available to try on for sizing at the winter evaluation.*

Refunds: A program refund will be given minus the $25 processing and tryout fee through the date before the winter 2023 evaluation. After the winter evaluation date, no refunds will be given. No refunds will be given after the deadline or after the teams have been announced.

Metro 9 year old Option | #509

9YO/3rd gr.+ team if your birthday is on or between May 1, 2013 & April 30, 2014. This age group will not be placed in the Metro League for league play. There will still be a tryout in case there are enough kids for multiple teams. It will focus on player fundamentals. There will still be a team of 12 players and 2-3 volunteer coaches. Board Members or Varsity coaches will also help at various practices to help with the fundamentals. A couple of scrimmages will be set up with different communities throughout the season along with one to two tournaments throughout the season.

Baseball Fees: Payment of $250 is due on or before September 20, 2022. Other fees may apply based on if the team/coaches decide to play/qualify for additional tournaments and/or have paid coaches.
