At ISD110, our mission is to allow students to explore their passions and create success! In early childhood we give children a high quality preschool experience in partnership with parents. We strive to educate, collaborate, challenge, empower and support families, nurture development and treat all with respect. Our high quality preschool has standards based curriculum and assessments and certified teaching staff. We are a Pyramid Model School. Pyramid model is a social and emotional framework incorporated into the curriculum to ensure high quality classrooms for all students. Waconia Wildcat Preschool is Parent Aware Certified with four stars, the highest rating awarded. Our preschool offers a variety of traditional preschool options for children who are ages 3-5 years by Sept. 1, 2023.

Due to increased demand and popularity, we are excited to announce District 110 Wildcat Preschool is expanding! New class times, more classrooms, additional staff, and an elementary school-based classroom are all being added for 2023-2024,

Before and after school childcare is available through Kids' Company.

Fee-based transportation from within District 110 boundaries is available for all District 110 Wildcat Preschool classes based in the Early Childhood Family Center. Fee-based transportation for students living within Laketown Elementary boundaries is available for our District 110 Wildcat Preschool classroom based at Laketown Elementary. Busing between Kids' Company to Laketown Elementary will be an option for preschoolers needing quality childcare before or after school.

Our goals:

• To provide play based inquiry and nurture curiosity for deep learning in an environment designed by licensed staff to support developmentally appropriate exploration.
• To provide a joy of learning and open the world of learning for the preschool child.
• To support physical, intellectual and social/emotional readiness skills using a research-based curriculum to support kindergarten readiness.
• To engage parents and provide opportunities for connection and support.

Curriculum

Creative Curriculum: This is our base curriculum. Creative Curriculum includes developmentally appropriate goals and objectives for children within four main categories of interest: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language. Teachers use Creative Curriculum as their guide to set-up their classrooms, observe children and ensure they are teaching to the whole child.

Second Step: This is our social-emotional curriculum. Second Step is research-based, teacher-informed, and classroom-tested to promote the social-emotional development, safety, and well-being of young children. When children enter kindergarten with self-regulation and well-rounded social-emotional skills, they are set-up for success.

Foundations: This is our language arts curriculum. Foundations assists children with phonemic awareness, phonics and letter formation.

Wildcat Discovery Park offers children a nature-based outdoor playground experience. An early childhood edible garden, a fort building area, a unique sand box created out of logs and traditional play equipment are available.

Waconia Wildcat Preschool is inclusive and open to all children.

We have created a classroom environment to meet students who are three and early four years old through hands on engaged learning while paving a road for academic growth.

This classroom was created for children that are three and four years old. We will concentrate on building your child's self confidence in a learning environment.

Age 4 and 5

This offering is best suited for children who are four or five years old, but may not be attending Kindergarten in the fall of 2023. Kindergarten Readiness skills will be a priority as well as problem solving and making friends.
