Laketown Children’s Theatre is thrilled to produce Seussical KIDS and The Jungle Book KIDS this Summer! The registration fee is $60 per play.

Admission for the shows are: Adults; $6, Seniors 65+ $3, Students K-12 $2, 5 and under are FREE. We will sell tickets prior to the show each date on site.

We are also looking for two volunteers ages 12-Adult to help with lights and sound Wed-Saturday for the rehearsals and both shows. Please call us in the spring/ prior to the show week if you are able to volunteer at 952-442-0612.

S-110: Seussical KIDS (Formerly Wizard of OZ week)

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Auditions will begin on Monday, July 17 at 12:15pm in the Waconia Middle School Auditorium with timing for the day pending the participants roll, rehearsing no later than 4:15pm. Everyone registered is guaranteed a part! Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday-Thursday from 12:15pm-4:30pm. Rehearsal times vary depending on roles. Friday is the dress rehearsal beginning at 3:30pm. There will be two performances, one on Friday, July 21 at 7:00pm and Saturday, July 22 at 1:00pm.

S-111: Jungle Book, KIDS (Formerly Snow White week)

The jungle is jumpin' with a jazzy beat in Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS. Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie.

Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, a human boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. On their journey, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swingin' musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys led by King Louie, Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. When Shere Khan returns, our heroes must rally their fellow animals into battle and restore peace throughout the jungle.
